Poaching for trade is one of the leading threats to many of our world's most iconic species. For over a decade, an estimated $23 billion global black market for illegal wildlife products like rhino horn, elephant ivory, and tiger parts has been funded by sky-rocketing Asian demand for fashionable tonics, trinkets, and food.
Wildlife crime is the most immediate threat to so many wild animals including elephants, tigers, and rhinos. While we have had some wins for elephants and tigers, other species—including pangolins and jaguars—are being targeted by criminals for trafficking.
WWF is working with governments across the entire problem—linking the source, trafficking, and demand countries—to strengthen law enforcement, invest in better protection on the ground, and commit to long-term demand reduction efforts.
We need your support to stop demand for illegal wildlife parts and products and sustain government priority actions and investments. Pledge to stop wildlife crime and commit to preserving nature's beauty for future generations.
