WWF has always been an important organization to my family as my husband and I believe strongly in advocating for our environment, its natural resources and wildlife. When I saw the opportunity to run with Panda Nation again and this time in NYC I jumped at the chance.

My favorite part about fundraising for WWF was knowing that I was doing something meaningful with my passion for running. And of course — the connection that being a part of Panda Nation gives you.

Wildlife has always played a major role in my life and led me down a path to purse a master’s degree in zoology & ecology! When choosing what organization to fundraise for, WWF seemed like an easy choice. I like to think of myself as a “Runner for Wildlife”. It allows me to combine two of my passions in one!

My advice for anyone would be to be just as passionate about your fundraiser as you would for your marathon training. When you are just as passionate about what your cause stands for, others will see that and support your journey!

When it came time to select an organization to fundraise for, my first thought was what can the majority of future donors relate to the most. When doing my research into WWF and what they do to protect the wildlife and wild places around the world, it was a no brainer to select WWF as my fundraiser.

Protecting nature is important to me because I want my children to be able to grow up being able to see the same wildlife and wild regions around the world that I was able to see. Also, we can learn so much from other species as well as the environment.

Each year, Panda Paddle gives me the opportunity to help people fall in love with the world around us as I share my paddling adventures. I joke that I can be having the worst day ever, but being on the water or in the woods helps me solve the problems of the world.

I'm grateful the WWF gives me the opportunity to combine two of my greatest loves—paddling and protecting the environment—to leave an important legacy for my future grandchildren and their future grandchildren.

Social Media Tips | Learn to post like a pro

Mix up your posts so they don't feel repetitive. Share facts about your favorite animal, updates on your fundraising progress, and conservation tips for people to help make a difference.
Include a link to your fundraising page on your social post or in your bio.
When posting about your page on social media, use the #FundraiseforWWF hashtag and tag us at @world_wildlife to keep us in the loop!
Tag your donors when you thank them on social media to give them credit and to remind others that haven't donated yet.

Fundraising Page Photos

Use these photos to make your fundraising page your own! Customizing your fundraising page to tell your story is one of the best ways to generate donations.

Matching Gifts

Matching gifts are such a great way to make donations go even further. To get matching gifts applied to your page, we’ll need to have the matching gift donation confirmed by our fundraising operations team. Please send over any information you have on the donation. The most important information would be:

Donor Name (If the donation is coming directly from their company or another third-party matching gift payment processor like Benevity)
Address of the Donating Company
Donation Amount (Some companies match different amounts, so we need the exact amount confirmed)
Donation Date

Once we have that information, our fundraising operations team will be able to confirm we received the donation and we’ll get that added to your fundraising page.

Why WWF Poster

Print out a WWF poster when promoting your fundraising efforts. This can be helpful at your fundraising party or displaying on your bake sale stand.

Have your family and friends cheer you on in style! Print out these cheer signs and hand them to your loved ones who are cheering you on at the race. Go get 'em, tiger! Click to download!
